Terms of Service

By signing up for, accessing, or using CheffyIQ, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. The service
CheffyIQ ("we", "our") provides an AI-powered kitchen monitoring platform consisting of: software (web dashboard, mobile apps, APIs), AI models, an optional edge device, and customer support. We continuously improve the service and may add or remove features.
2. Account & eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old and authorized to bind your restaurant or company.
- You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity on your account.
- You must inform your kitchen staff that AI monitoring is in place, in compliance with local labour laws.
3. Subscription & billing
- Plans, pricing, and billing periods are described on the pricing page.
- Pilot accounts are free for 14 days. After that, you must upgrade or your account becomes read-only.
- Paid plans are billed monthly or annually in advance. Payment is via card or invoice.
- Late payments accrue interest at 1.5% per month or the maximum permitted by law, whichever is lower.
- You may cancel any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract our AI models.
- Use CheffyIQ to monitor people without disclosure required by law.
- Resell or sublicense the service without our written permission.
- Upload illegal content or use the service to violate any law.
- Test our security or scrape our service without our written permission (see our responsible disclosure policy).
5. Customer data & privacy
You retain ownership of all data you upload, including kitchen footage, recipes, and chef records. We act as a processor on your behalf. See our Privacy Policy and Data Processing Addendum for details.
We do not use your data to train AI models for other customers without your explicit consent.
6. Service levels & support
- Pilot plan: best-effort support, business hours, email only.
- Growth plan: 99% uptime SLA, priority email + chat support.
- Enterprise plan: 99.9% uptime SLA, named CSM, 24/7 critical-incident support.

7. Hardware (edge box)
If we ship you an edge device:
- The device remains the property of CheffyIQ during the subscription term.
- You agree to provide power, network, and reasonable physical security.
- Upon cancellation, you must return the device within 30 days. We provide a prepaid shipping label.
- Lost or damaged devices are billed at $28,000 per unit.
8. Warranties & disclaimers
The service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. CheffyIQ is a decision-support tool. You remain responsible for food safety, hygiene compliance, and operational decisions in your kitchens. We do not guarantee 100% detection accuracy.
9. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability under these Terms is limited to the fees paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for lost profits, indirect, or consequential damages.
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for willful misconduct, gross negligence, or matters that cannot be limited by law.
10. Termination
- You may terminate at any time from your account settings.
- We may suspend your account for non-payment after 14 days notice, or terminate for material breach after 30 days notice and an opportunity to cure.
- Upon termination, you may export your data within 30 days. After 90 days we delete all customer data.
11. Confidentiality
Each party agrees to keep the other's confidential information secret and to use it only for the purposes of this agreement, for 5 years after termination.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms occasionally. Material changes will be emailed to you 30 days in advance. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
13. Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the US. Disputes will be resolved by arbitration seated in Baltimore under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act 1996, English language. Either party may seek injunctive relief in any competent court.
